Our story
Engineers first. Installers second.
Equator Solar was founded in 2011 by Fabian Dold to address a clear gap in Uganda's commercial energy market: organisations that needed reliable, efficient power but had no way to properly assess, design and commission integrated energy systems.
Over 14 years, we have built a track record across manufacturing, health, education, agriculture, hospitality, communications and humanitarian sectors — from 7 kWp off-grid school systems to 500 kWp tea factory installations.
We are not a product reseller. We are engineers. We start every engagement with an energy audit — because a system designed without real load data will not perform as promised.
Our technology partners are German: NEXIRA (Kassel) and renergy consulting (Ettenheim) bring hardware quality and technical certification that meets international standards. Our execution is East African: we know the grid, the climate, the logistics, and the operational realities.
